Mather and Platt Ltd Salford & Manchester, England M & P is an engineering company with its origins during the Industrial Revolution of the 19th Century. From supplying textile machinery it became a major international manufacturer in the 20th Century. "Our Journal" January 1941... This copy was found in a second hand bookshop and has a wealth of names, photos and biographical details of company employees which will be of interest to family historians, with reference to page numbers. There is also a long list of employees serving in the Armed Forces with photos and details of regiments and letters back to colleagues. It also has some interesting articles about the company during the war years. In January 2007 the Journal will be donated to the Manchester & Lancashire Family History Society, for those who wish to obtain photocopies of pages.
